Meaningful Impact
I’m especially effective when decisions on the line are complex, public-facing or public-impacting, and shaped by more than one system at the same time.
When evidence, incentives, and public understanding don’t align
This often shows up in food and health-related work, where strong evidence exists but decision-making is distorted by policy constraints, market forces, or public misunderstanding. I help clarify what the evidence actually supports, where tradeoffs are real, and what’s being lost when complexity is oversimplified.
When information is technically correct but practically unusable
I’m often brought in when messaging is accurate on paper but failing in practice — misunderstood, mistrusted, or ignored. My focus here is health literacy: how information is framed, what assumptions are being made about the audience, and where clarity breaks down in real-world use.
When culture and environment are quietly shaping outcomes (both desirable and undesirable)
Many decisions are influenced long before anyone realizes — by language, setting, norms, and design. I pay close attention to these upstream factors, especially when they’re working against stated goals, and help make them visible so they can be addressed deliberately rather than by accident.
